PROCESSED LOCALLYHow to use this tool
Choose your GIF
Select a GIF up to 20MiB. Use Play or the Preview frame slider to inspect the decoded animation before making changes.
Choose your settings
Drag on the preview or enter Selection X, Y, width and height. Choose Blur, Pixelate or Black box and set the strength.
Inspect and download
Select Generate result. Inspect the region throughout the animation, then download the GIF. A moving subject may need a larger fixed rectangle.
Key features
Blur, pixelate or cover a rectangle
Drag a selection or enter source-pixel coordinates. Choose blur, pixel blocks or an opaque black box.
Apply the region to every frame
The rectangle stays fixed through the animation. It does not track moving subjects; inspect all frames before sharing.
Free, without an account
Use the available controls, preview and downloads without sign-up or payment. Processing runs on your device within the stated format and memory limits.
What Blur GIF changes
Drag over the preview or enter X, Y, width and height in source pixels. The same rectangle is applied to every frame, including when the preview is scaled to fit your screen.
Choose blur, pixelation or a black box. Strength controls the blur neighborhood or pixel block size. Generate and inspect several frames before downloading.
Format details and limits
A fixed rectangle does not follow moving faces or text. Blur and pixelation may leave recognizable information; use an opaque box when you need to fully cover an area and check all frames.
A practical example
Cover a username that remains in the top corner of a screen recording. If it moves, select a rectangle large enough to cover every position.
Supported files and processing limits
Animation input is limited to 20MiB, 4 megapixels per frame, 300 frames and a 128MiB RGBA frame cache.
Processing and packaging stop after 60 seconds. Device memory and browser capabilities can limit smaller files too. Cancel or clear the task to release its working results; changing a setting clears the old download.
Frequently asked questions
Which effect fully covers an area?
Black box applies an opaque fill to the fixed rectangle. Blur and pixelation may leave information recognizable. Inspect every frame because none of these effects track a moving subject.
Does the blur follow a moving face?
No. Selection coordinates remain fixed for all frames. Inspect the complete result and use a sufficiently large region or another workflow for moving subjects.
Can I blur part of a GIF or pixelate it?
Yes. Choose a rectangle by dragging or entering pixel coordinates, then choose Blur, Pixelate or Black box. The fixed rectangle applies to every frame.
Why was my file rejected?
Input up to 20MiB, 4 megapixels per frame and 300 frames. Total RGBA frame cache is limited to 128MiB. Invalid or unsupported file data is rejected. Try a smaller file or another browser if memory or encoding support is insufficient.
Are my files sent to a server?
No. Your input and generated output remain in your browser. Close the page or clear the tool to release its local results.
