Key features
Turn the whole animation
Rotate 90°, 180° or 270° clockwise. Quarter turns swap width and height; source timing and total plays remain unchanged.
Mirror without rotation
Choose No rotation and flip horizontally or vertically. If both are selected, rotation happens before the flip.
Free, without an account
Use the available controls, preview and downloads without sign-up or payment. Processing runs on your device within the stated format and memory limits.
What Rotate GIF changes
Select a GIF, then choose 90° clockwise, 180°, 270° clockwise or no rotation. You can also choose a horizontal or vertical flip.
Rotation is applied first, then the selected flip in the rotated coordinate system. A 90° or 270° turn exchanges width and height. Timing and total plays stay unchanged.
Format details and limits
These operations rearrange existing pixels rather than interpolating them. GIF export may still quantize colors when the animation uses more colors than the output palette can hold.
A practical example
Turn a sideways animation 90° clockwise, or choose no rotation and horizontal flip to mirror a gesture.
Supported files and processing limits
Animation input is limited to 20MiB, 4 megapixels per frame, 300 frames and a 128MiB RGBA frame cache.
Processing and packaging stop after 60 seconds. Device memory and browser capabilities can limit smaller files too. Cancel or clear the task to release its working results; changing a setting clears the old download.
Frequently asked questions
In which order are rotation and flipping applied?
Rotation happens first. The selected horizontal or vertical flip is then applied in the rotated coordinate system. Choose No rotation when you only want a mirror image.
Does a 90-degree rotation change the canvas size?
Yes. Width and height are exchanged. A 180-degree rotation or a flip preserves the existing dimensions.
Can I flip a GIF without rotating it?
Yes. Choose No rotation and Horizontal or Vertical flip. To rotate a GIF 90 degrees, choose the clockwise 90° setting; 180° and 270° are also available.
Why was my file rejected?
Input up to 20MiB, 4 megapixels per frame and 300 frames. Total RGBA frame cache is limited to 128MiB. Invalid or unsupported file data is rejected. Try a smaller file or another browser if memory or encoding support is insufficient.
Are my files sent to a server?
No. Your input and generated output remain in your browser. Close the page or clear the tool to release its local results.
