More gain, with clipping protection

400% means a gain multiplier of four, not a promise of four times the perceived loudness. A compressor reduces peaks at increased gains; it can change the sound, especially when a recording is already loud.

100% preserves the decoded samples without added compression. Higher gains use offline audio processing and peak protection. A warning appears when amplified input peaks risk clipping. This tool does not normalize to LUFS targets.

Frequently asked questions

Will 400% always sound four times louder?

No. Perceived loudness depends on the source and your playback device. Compression limits peaks, so a loud source may change less than a quiet one.

Can I download an MP3?

This version downloads WAV only. You can upload a supported MP3, but we do not re-encode to MP3.

Why does my audio sound different?

At higher gains, the compressor controls peaks and may change dynamics. Compare previews and choose a lower gain if you hear distortion.

Are my audio files uploaded?

No. Your browser processes and previews them locally; there is no account or payment.
