MADE FOR THIS TASK

Key features

  • Strict white or a tolerance

Count fully opaque white pixels using RGB 255,255,255, or choose tolerance 2 or 5. Statistics cover the entire image.

  • Compare diagnostic highlights

Switch between the original and a pink highlight overlay. Full scan measures original pixels up to 8 megapixels; resized previews are estimates.

  • Free, without an account

Use the available controls, preview and downloads without sign-up or payment. Processing runs on your device within the stated format and memory limits.

What counts as white?

Strict white requires RGB 255,255,255 with full opacity. Tolerance 2 accepts each channel at 253 or higher; tolerance 5 accepts each channel at 250 or higher. Transparent and partly transparent pixels count as non-white.

Statistics cover the entire image, including the subject. This is pixel analysis rather than automatic subject segmentation, background removal or a guarantee of marketplace approval. Non-white pixels are highlighted in pink.

Fast preview or original-pixel scan

Default analysis uses a proportional preview no larger than 1200px on its longest side. When the image is reduced, percentages are estimates and region size refers to the analysis pixels. Results are labelled accordingly.

Full scan uses original pixels and is limited to 8 million pixels to control memory. Larger images can still use preview analysis. The largest non-white region uses four-neighbor connectivity; diagonally touching pixels alone are separate regions.

A free online check, with no file upload

JPEG, PNG and WebP input, up to 20MB and 40 million decoded pixels. Files, names and results stay in your browser. No account or payment is needed.

The PNG download is a diagnostic highlight image, not a cleaned or recolored original. Original/highlight comparison and all threshold options are free.

A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Is this online white background checker free?

Yes. Threshold choices, pixel statistics, original/highlight comparison and PNG downloads are free, with no sign-up.

Why is the white percentage low for a product photo?

The product itself usually contains non-white pixels. We count the entire image, rather than identifying the product and measuring only its background.

Does a preview show the exact original white count?

Only when it was not resized. A resized preview gives an estimate; Full scan measures original pixels for images up to 8 megapixels.
