PROCESSED LOCALLYHow to use this tool
Choose a sprite sheet
Select a static PNG, WebP or JPEG up to 20MiB. Check its frame dimensions and grid before configuring the animation.
Choose your settings
Set Rows, Columns, Frame width and Frame height. Enter any Padding or Margin, choose frame order and FPS, and keep nearest-neighbor scaling for pixel art.
Inspect and download
Select Generate result. Play the animation or inspect individual frames, then download the GIF. Adjust the grid if frames contain neighboring cells.
Key features
Read your sprite grid
Set frame dimensions, rows, columns, padding and margins. Choose row-first or column-first order and skip transparent empty cells.
Control playback and scaling
Start at 10FPS with nearest-neighbor scaling, then set total plays or Boomerang. GIF export has palette and transparency limits.
Free, without an account
Use the available controls, preview and downloads without sign-up or payment. Processing runs on your device within the stated format and memory limits.
What Sprite Sheet to GIF changes
Select a sprite sheet, then set rows, columns and frame dimensions. Padding is the gap between cells; margin is the outer border on all four sides. The grid must fit inside the image.
Read frames across rows or down columns. Choose FPS, total plays (0 is infinite), optional Boomerang and skipping fully transparent cells. Scale using nearest neighbor for pixel art or smooth interpolation.
Format details and limits
The input is a static PNG, WebP or JPEG. GIF output has at most 256 palette entries and one-bit transparency; animated WebP conversion is not included. Actual GIF delay is rounded to 10ms.
A practical example
A 128×32 strip with four columns and one row can produce four 32×32 frames. At 10FPS they play for approximately 0.4 seconds per pass.
Supported files and processing limits
Static sheet input is limited to 20MiB, 16 megapixels and 8192px per side. Generated animations must fit within 4 megapixels per frame, 300 frames and a 128MiB RGBA frame cache.
Processing and packaging stop after 60 seconds. Device memory and browser capabilities can limit smaller files too. Cancel or clear the task to release its working results; changing a setting clears the old download.
Frequently asked questions
How do Padding and Margin differ?
Padding is the gap between cells; Margin is the outer border on all four sides. The frame grid, including both values, must fit inside your source image.
Why does my pixel art look soft?
Use nearest-neighbor scaling and integer scale factors. Smooth interpolation blends neighboring pixels, while GIF color quantization can still reduce colors.
Can I preview a pixel art sprite sheet as an animation?
Yes. Set the grid and FPS, then generate a GIF and use Play or the frame slider to inspect the sprite sheet animation. Nearest-neighbor scaling is the default.
Why was my file rejected?
Input up to 20MiB, 16 megapixels and 8192px per side. Generated frames must fit the animation limits. Invalid or unsupported file data is rejected. Try a smaller file or another browser if memory or encoding support is insufficient.
Are my files sent to a server?
No. Your input and generated output remain in your browser. Close the page or clear the tool to release its local results.
